A HUGE number of eye-catching images have been submitted by residents for a new competition.
Launched on Valentine’s Day, the challenge for amateur snappers to capture their favourite view of Northumberland has brought in more than 240 photographs from more than 80 people.
Judges from the county council now have the difficult task of shortlisting and choosing a winner for the contest, which was organised through the LOVE Northumberland campaign.
Short-listed entries will feature in an exhibition in one of the county’s libraries and in a gallery on the council’s Facebook page.
Council Executive Member for Infrastructure and the Environment Isabel Hunter said: “The standard of photographs entered in the competition has been extremely high. It is going to be a very difficult job to find an overall winner.
“We are pleased that we will be able to feature the winner and other shortlisted entries in an exhibition and online so that they can be widely seen and enjoyed.
“We will also be using some of the images to promote our beautiful county as part of the LOVE Northumberland campaign.”
The winning photographer will receive £50 worth of garden centre vouchers.
