THERE was a cracking Easter weekend at Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade.
Hundreds of visitors attended the Easter Egg-stravaganza on Saturday.
And there were special treats in store for a number of lucky prize-winners. Sarah and Mark Laidler were delighted to find a golden ticket in one of hundreds of free chocolate bars that were handed out, earning them a £500 shopping spree. With a baby on the way, the vouchers will come in handy for JoJo Maman Bebe, but there will also be trips to Marks and Spencer and Clarks for their young son Dylan.
Ten-year-old Kaitlin Sanderson won another draw to claim a Curiously Wicked chocolate egg.
There were even more prizes on offer with The Corbridge Larder’s Design an Easter Egg competition. It turned out to be a family affair, with six-year-old Maddy Dyer winning the age four to seven category with her Bunny In The Arcade Garden, big sister Charlotte, aged nine, winning the eight to 11 section with What Came First, The Chicken Or The Egg?, and one of the runners-up was seven-year-old Libby Dyer with the theme Snow Way It’s Easter. Centre Manager Medi Parry said: “We had a great Easter weekend with lots of prizes and events throughout the Saturday. We’d like to congratulate all the winners of our competitions, particularly the very artistic Dyer sisters.
“The judging at Corbridge Larder was done without any names so they didn’t realise they picked sisters as the winners.”
