PEOPLE living in Northumberland can enjoy free and discounted entry to a range of tourist attractions this weekend.
The second annual Residents’ Festival on Saturday and Sunday celebrates the fantastic places to visit in the area.
Attractions taking part include the English Heritage property Belsay Hall Castle and Gardens, which is offering two for one entry.
Among the others are Wallington, Woodhorn Museum, Cragside and The Alnwick Garden.
Chairman of Northumberland County Council Marcia Bircham said: “We are very grateful to all the attraction providers who will be opening their doors to residents during the 2011 festival weekend.
“We hope that as many people as possible take the opportunity to experience them.”
Residents will need the festival leaflet containing the vouchers for free and discounted entry.
Each leaflet contains sufficient vouchers to visit up to five attractions during the weekend and they are available at various outlets throughout the county, such as libraries, leisure centres, council information offices, tourist information centres and Sure Start children’s centres.
