FATHER Christmas will be making an appearance at Belsay Hall this weekend.
Dressed in a traditional, colourful costume, he will recite famous yuletide stories and poems in the festive surroundings and there will be an opportunity for photos with children.
Visitors can also hear tales of Christmas past, including performances of 1940s wartime Christmas traditions by Meakin the Butler.
Wrap up warm and adults can come and shop for unique Christmas gifts and sample English Heritage’s own range of liqueurs and seasonal treats.
This event is taking place between 11am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Entry charges for non-English Heritage members include £7.90 for adults, £7.10 for concessions, £4.70 for children (ages five to 15) and £20.50 for a family ticket.
