FAMILIES are being invited to hop to a bunny bonanza at Belsay Hall this Easter weekend.
English Heritage is encouraging people to pack a picnic and venture out to the Northumberland property to enjoy the fresh air and with the Easter bunny jumping between sites, those who come along might be lucky enough to have him join in their bunny brunch.
They can then enjoy a leisurely stroll around the site before the little ones are let loose for an afternoon enjoying the Easter fun and games.
English Heritage has partnered with Universal Pictures in celebration of the new animated film, HOP, with children and the young at heart able to take part in some special Easter trails.
And visitors who catch up with the elusive Easter bunny will be in with a chance of winning the golden egg, worth £2,000.
Spokeswoman Caroline Sinclair said: “The bunny brunches offer a great twist on the traditional British picnic and here at English Heritage we can’t wait to enter into the Easter spirit. We want to encourage people to really make a day of it and packing a picnic for a late morning Easter brunch is a fantastic way of setting the little ones up for an afternoon spent roaming the site and hunting for their chocolaty treats.
“During the HOP trail, visitors can be on the lookout for the elusive Easter bunny to be in with the chance to win the mysterious golden egg.”
The activities are available from Good Friday to Easter Monday. Tickets are priced £7.50 for adults, £6.80 concessions, £4.50 children (ages five to 15) and a family ticket is £19.50.
However, the Easter holiday fun does not end there because from Tuesday to Friday, April 29, the venue is offering the ultimate egg hunt.
Token eggs will be hidden around the estate and children lucky enough to find them will be able to claim a chocolate prize.
