READERS can meet the author and illustrator of a wartime book set in Northumberland at a signing session in Morpeth on Saturday.

Georgina Jack will talk about Calendar Pigs, the fictional story of a girl who is evacuated to a rural farm during the Second World War. It is influenced by her own experiences as an evacuee during this period.

She will be at the town’s Waterstones branch in Sanderson Arcade from 2pm.

On the day, there will be a prize draw from all books sold to win a limited edition signed, mounted and framed print based on one of her illustrations for the book.
