Reindeer will be making a flying visit to Morpeth to help spread some Christmas cheer.
Rudolf is getting ready for his busy present run, but his friends Pancake, Ella and calf Ola have no such worries and Santa’s little helpers will be calling in to Sanderson Arcade this weekend.
The trio, who are owned by Richardson Garden Centre in County Durham, can be fed in the piazza area on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
Centre Manager Medi Parry said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming the reindeer back to the arcade. They’re always so popular with the children in the run-up to Christmas.”
Shoppers can also sample the delights of a special Christmas market on Saturday, with more than 25 stalls offering their goods in the Market Place.
There will be festive flavours from Geordie Bangers, a range of wreaths from George Wardle Plants, and homegrown produce from Rising Sun Farm. Meanwhile, winter-warming food will be available from the Sausage Hut, On The Goa and Gingersnaps.
Throughout December, Sanderson Arcade is offering free mince pies and mulled wine to shoppers every Sunday, along with live music. For details, see www.sanderson arcade.co.uk
