Reindeer to land at arcade

RUDOLF may be a little busy at this time of year, but his friends Troy, Ella and Snowdrop can spare a day to take a trip to Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade.

The trio of reindeer will meet Christmas shoppers on Saturday to help spread a bit of festive magic.

The deer are owned by Richardson Garden Centre in County Durham, which started rearing them several years ago.

They will stand alongside the arcade’s own reindeer light display in the piazza area, where children will be able to meet and feed them.

Centre Manager Medi Parry said: “We are really excited to be having the reindeer back at the centre again this weekend.

“They were really popular last year and we’re delighted to have them here again in the run-up to Christmas.”

The reindeer will visit between 9am and 3pm. Other festive events at the arcade include late-night shopping every Thursday before Christmas, when mince pies and mulled wine will be served, and seasonal music at weekends.
