ALL the glamour of the catwalk came to Morpeth as town-centre stores showed off their latest fashions.

The Sanderson Arcade fashion show took place last week to put the spotlight on the new spring and summer collections from its various shops.

More than 60 models took part in the event, which was held at Barluga restaurant last Monday.

A number of stores from the arcade took up the opportunity to present their hottest new styles, including Clarks, Hobbs, The Wool Room, Marks and Spencer, Monsoon, New Look, Frank Bird, Lakeland Leather, Crew Clothing and The Wedding Gallery.

There was also a chance for local hairdressing students to shine as the models’ styling was done by trainees at the new hairdressing school in Jazz salon, which runs every Monday.

The venue was full to capacity for the special showing, and one family even travelled from Leeds for the event.

Alison Rebair was the lucky winner of a fashion-themed hamper, which raised £112 for the Sick Children’s Trust, the shopping centre’s adopted charity this year.

Sanderson Arcade Manager Medi Parry said: “This is the second fashion show we’ve held and it really was a great event.

“We hope everyone who came along enjoyed themselves and enjoyed getting a sneak preview of some of the lovely styles coming into the stores.

“We wanted to involve as many of our stores as possible and hope this is an event that will continue to grow in popularity.”

The centre now plans to hold two fashion shows each year.
