BOOK buyers can chat to a North East author at a Morpeth signing this weekend.

Barry Stone will be visiting the Waterstone’s store in Sanderson Arcade on Saturday to sign copies of his novel Barking At Winston.

The book is the first in a trilogy of stories, mainly told by a Collie cross who sets out to help the colourful 1970s family that rescued him from the kennels.

Waterstone’s worker Jonny Woollett, who is co-ordinating the event, said: “We’re really excited that Barry is coming to do this signing as interest in his book has been strong ever since we began stocking it in November.

“Plus, we know from colleagues at other branches that he interacts exceptionally well with customers so all in all our event should be rather special.

“We’ve ordered a plentiful supply of Barking At Winston so the more who come to meet Barry, the merrier.”

Mr Stone will be at the branch from 1pm to 5.30pm.
