Arty children get crafty

CHILDREN are being invited to take part in art and craft workshops at a garden centre near Morpeth.

Experts from Krafty Kidz will be running a variety of activities during the summer holidays at Heighley Gate Nursery & Garden Centre every Tuesday until August 30.

General Manager Roger Wale said: “Michelle Ibbetson from Krafty Kidz is a regular at the garden centre and is always very popular when she hosts her workshops.

“She will be showing children how to have fun with arts and crafts and youngsters will get the chance to participate in a variety of different craft activities including making wind chimes, designing a ceramic money box and painting bangles.”

Krafty Kidz will be at Heighley Gate on August 2, August 9, August 16, August 23 and August 30 from 11am until 3pm. All activities cost less than £6 per child.

Children, who must be accompanied by an adult, can drop in at any time to take part during the sessions.

• Jo Jingles Music and Movement classes will be returning to Heighley Gate in August following a good turnout in June and July.

There will be three sessions every Wednesday morning from August 3 until 24.

They will take place from 9.45am to 10.30am for children aged two to five years, between 10.30am and 11.15am for walkers up to two years and from 11.15am until noon for ‘Jingle Babies’ (children aged three months and older who crawl).

Heighley Gate is offering customers an introductory offer of £10 for any three of the classes. Classes cost £4.75 if booked individually – babies from three to six months can participate for free.

There is also a separate £2.50 insurance charge per child, which covers them for the duration of the sessions that will take place in the Garden Gate restaurant.
