A youngster has been crowned the winner of a competition organised by a Morpeth bookshop.

Waterstones in the town held a competition to draw a picture from David Walliams’ The World’s Worst Children.

And after dozens of entries the judges picked eight-year-old Isla McAlpine as their winner.

Isla, from Morpeth, won a copy of Walliams’ book as her prize in the competition.

And due to the success of this latest competition, Waterstones has decided to run a regular competition for its youngest clientele.

The next one is based on JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

To be in with a chance of winning one of three copies of the new book out next month, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, all you have to do is design your own Hogwarts House badge.

Entries need to be submitted to the store by Saturday, July 23.

There will be three age groups: five to eight year olds, nine to 13 and teenagers.

Make sure you include your name, age and contact details on all entries.
