R-Eggs will be on the prowl

A prehistoric guest is hatching plans to make a roarsome entrance at award-winning holiday park Golden Sands at Cresswell when it opens its doors on Easter Sunday.

Visitors to the beachfront park’s Family Fun Day will get the chance to come nose to snout with none other than 13-ft long Tyrannosaurus R-eggs.

Those brave enough will be able to pat gigantic reptile R-eggs, who will be controlled by his keeper, as he roams through Golden Sands Holiday Park at the free-to-attend event on Sunday, April 1.

But raptor-eyed visitors will spot that there’s more to R-eggs than it seems. For the fearsome fossil is an incredibly lifelike, animatronic puppet that can walk, growl, swing his tail and gnash his teeth.

Plucky, a friendly, giant chicken with her hen-pecked sidekick companion, will also be on hand. The duo will be bringing fun, Easter frolics, music and songs to onlookers at the Visit England five-star rated park. The event is also open for non-residents to go along and enjoy.

Other fun activities will include face-painting, balloon modelling, inflatables, children’s rides and hot food and drinks.

Golden Sands Holiday Park owner Nigel Thompson, says: “We like to let our imagination run wild at Golden Sands and bringing Tyrannosaurus R-eggs to welcome everyone on Easter Sunday will be a roar-some treat for visitors as part of a cracking day of family entertainment.

“As well as all the fun and games, we’ve some egg-stra special caravan deals that are anything but prehistoric, including our Golden Easter X sale with up to 25 per cent off selected new and approved used models.”

The fun takes place from noon onwards on Easter Sunday.
