Help at hand to keep kids occupied during summer

CHILDREN can learn some useful stage skills during special workshops in Morpeth over the next couple of weeks.

Experienced workshop leader and choir director Anna Corcoran will be running Sing Up classes in Venue @ Riverside Lodge.

This will consist of three two-and-a-half -our sessions, with a performance on the Thursday evening.

They include fun warm-up exercises, harmony tips and lessons about performance techniques.

Those involved can sing hits from top artists and bands such as Emile Sande, Alicia Keys, Adele and Coldplay.

The next set of workshops start on Tuesday. Sessions for five to nine-year-olds run from 10am to 12.30pm and the ones for ages 10 and above are between 2pm and 4.30pm.

In addition, pantomime workshops are being provided by the Newcastle Panto Company, which stages an annual panto at the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre in Newcastle.

They will consist of one three-hour session per week.
