A MUSICAL evening in Morpeth will round off a day of fund-raising in aid of an African school-building scheme.

The concert at St Robert’s Church Hall in Oldgate features a performance from the Morpeth Parish Folk Choir. A raffle and quiz will also take place.

Refreshments will be available, including a free glass of wine for adults, and there will be detailed information about the Jitegemee School Building Project, which is taking place in a Tanzanian village.

Entry is free to the event, although organisers will be asking for donations. Funds raised on the night will help with the building of dormitories, rooms for science and an area for staff.

Volunteers will be out and about in Morpeth town centre earlier in the day for a street collection.

The concert takes place on Saturday, at 7.30pm.
