A SUMMER of sound has been lined up at Morpeth’s shopping centre.
Sanderson Arcade will present a variety of musical acts every weekend throughout August. The live entertainment begins on Saturday when gypsy swing group Trio Gitan will perform a tribute to the late Stephane Grappelli and Django Rheinhardt, as well as a variety of swing jazz and tangos.
On Saturday, August 11 Mark Allan will sing recent chart-toppers, classic hits and ballads, and the following Saturday will see soul artist David Ball perform in the style of Sinatra.
To celebrate the Bank Holiday weekend, Harry Mears will perform a sax repertoire on Saturday, August 25, and Bank Holiday Monday will feature the ever popular Jazz Men quartet.
Centre Manager Medi Parry said: “We are really excited about having our summer of live music return to the arcade again this year. We have had a great response from our customers in the past and we believe that this year’s line-up is the best yet. All we need now is some nice sunny weather.”
