Choir comes to town

A POPULAR North East choir will perform at a charity concert in Morpeth on Saturday.

The Newcastle Male Chorus will sing a varied programme, with music from Les Miserables, Pirates of Penzance and Chess and some well known individual pieces including One World, Let There Be Light, Finnish Forest, Cossack Ride, Autumn Leaves, If I Ruled the World, and Battle Hymn of the Republic.

There are 16 items by the group, which has given concerts throughout the UK and in Germany, and six song selections by soloists.

The event, which will be held in St George’s United Reformed Church, Bridge Street, from 7pm, is in aid of international charities for the Rotary Club of Morpeth.

Tickets are priced £7 for adults and under 16s can go free if they are accompanied by an adult. They can be bought on the door.
