Experienced musical duo Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer are set to get toes tapping when they present Jazz In The Village.
The pair, who have played together for many years, will bring their sophisticated style to Hepscott next week.
Saxophonist Ian and pianist Dominic have regularly and extensively toured Scotland, with sell-out shows over six years at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and performances at numerous jazz festivals. They also carry out rural tours in remote communities.
The Scottish scenery has inspired Ian to write many pieces of music, with a style that concentrates on developing melodic ideas within the framework of a tune, resulting in an accessible piece of music that also allows them to explore, improvise and develop ideas and interact together in as creative a way as possible.
Their latest tour will see them travel further up and down the country, visiting jazz clubs, arts venues, small theatres and villages.
Dominic said: “We have been very successful at transforming the village halls into an intimate cabaret-style jazz club setting with low lighting and candles on tables.
“We now have many fond memories of wonderful evenings in halls around the country where the reception we have received and audience comments have been fantastic.”
Ian added: “Our experience of playing in halls up and down the country has been amazing and the acoustics in most of the halls are superb.
“We have experienced a warm and friendly atmosphere where the audiences know each other, creating truly inspirational settings for some wonderful evenings.”
The duo will play at Hepscott Village Hall on Friday, January 23, from 8pm.
Tickets cost £10, including snacks, but people will have to take their own drinks.
