THE 68th season of Morpeth Music Society will open next week with an acclaimed alliance of virtuoso chamber musicians.
The London Chonchord Ensemble has been invited to take centre stage at Morpeth Methodist Church for the opening concert.
The Beethoven piano trio Opus 44 will start the programme, followed by the popular Schubert D667 ‘Trout’ quintet, and ending with Dvorak’s Piano Quartet Opus 87.
Six concerts will take place over the season, featuring pianists James Lisney and John Lenehan, the Haydn Lute Trio, violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen and the Prazak String Quartet.
Individual tickets cost £12, free for students under 18, while a season ticket costs £55.
They are available from the society on 01670 513369, Morpeth Tourist Information Centre in the Chantry, or from Morpeth Methodist Church in Howard Terrace.
The first concert takes place on Thursday, October 11, at 7.30pm.
