Czech music is the name of the game at the new Morpeth Music Society concert.

The Kinsky Trio Prague will be performing at Morpeth Methodist Church on Thursday, March 8, at 7.30pm.

Two of the three pieces to be played are by Czech composers so this Prague trio will bring an authentic interpretation.

The trio, which was founded in 1998 and is one of the country’s outstanding ensembles, is made up of Lucie Sedláková Hůlová on violin, Veronika Böhmová on piano and Martin Sedlák on cello.

They will play piano trio in D minor, No 1 by Anton Arensky, Bergerettes H 275. Nos 1, 3 and 4 by Bohuslav Martinů and piano trio in G minor, Opus 15 by Bedřich Smetana.

The Kinsky’s international career has taken them all over Europe, the United States, Canada and Mexico, and they regularly record for Czech Radio. From 2007-2009 they organised a series of chamber concerts at the Stone Bell House Inn in the Old Town Square in Prague.

Tickets are £15, free for under 18s, on 01670 513369 or on the door.
