Range of music with strings attached at ensemble’s end of term concert

Young violinists thrilled a packed audience at a concert in Morpeth.

About a dozen children from the Morpeth Junior Strings ensemble, run by Music Partnership North, played the music for songs such as Jingle Bells and Away in a Manger and did a medley of carols.

The end of term performance for family and friends at Chantry Middle School and Technology College also included solos and duets.

A number of children not in Morpeth Junior Strings, from schools across the Morpeth Partnership area and Pegswood First School, who are starting to learn the violin came along to see the instrument played at a more advanced level and they took part in a big group performance at the end of the concert.
