A musical treat is on offer at a Morpeth venue on Saturday.
The first half of ‘The Magic of Gilbert and Sullivan’ will be a selection of songs, with narration by John Barker, which tell the story of the operettas.
The second half of the Mid Northumberland Chorus (MNC) performance consists of a semi-staged production of Trial by Jury.
Members are pleased to welcome back Jane Corbitt, who sings the part of The Plaintiff, whilst homegrown talent Richard Pinkstone will sing The Defendant’s role.
MNC chair Sally Woolley said: “It’s fantastic to welcome Richard back to Morpeth after his time at York University. Many members watched his singing progress over a decade as a pupil in local schools.”
Richard, who will begin a MPerf in Vocal Studies at the Royal College of Music, London, in September, has a busy schedule over the next few months, including a church recital in Morpeth in August.
Tickets for the MNC performance, it will take place at Chantry Middle School from 7.30pm, are £7 each and they are available in advance by calling 01670 788869 or at the door on the evening.
