Have you ever wondered how to make a bagpipe?
If so the Morpeth Northumbrian Gathering was the event for you.
In line with its aim to keep traditional crafts alive, the festival hosted a pipe bag makers’ workshop today.
Morpeth has the ideal venue for such a session in the famous Bagpipe Museum, which is located within the Chantry.
Jackie Boyce showed the techniques needed to make the bags for a variety of instruments, including the Northumbrian Pipes.
But for those who missed the workshop, Herald photographer Jane Coltman filmed some of the action.
