MUSIC and a dancing style from north of the border will be performed in Ponteland at a charity event.

Part of the entertainment will be provided by singer Stephen Quigg, formerly of The McCalmans, who has performed across the UK, Europe and further afield as a member of the group and a solo artist. He is also adept with the guitar, banjo and bodhran drum.

The Donna Kimberley School of Highland Dancing is the other act that will take to the stage. Founder Donna Nelson is well known in the North East for her expertise in teaching. Her husband Gary will provide the accompaniment.

Proceeds from the event, which is taking place at Ponteland United Reformed Church, Darras Hall, on Tuesday, October 16, from 6.45pm, will go to Help For Heroes

Tickets, including refreshments, cost £10. They are available from Mackley & Steven Opticians, Main Street, and Newcastle Building Society, Darras Hall.
