MORPETH residents who like to sing can give their vocal chords a work-out at an event on Saturday.
The Newcastle Methodist District Music Society is coming to the town to hold a come-and-sing workshop with the theme of a meditation for Holy Week.
Those taking part will practise singing the Easter section of George Frideric Handel’s masterpiece Messiah, with conductor David Hughes.
The session will take place at Morpeth Methodist Church in Howard Terrace, between 2pm and 5pm. Singers are asked to assemble from 1.30pm. The charge to participate is £3. Residents can then sing the same music in an evening service, which starts at 6pm.
For more information about the workshop, call Monica Goldfinch on 0191 285 6223.
