Morpeth Food and Drink Festival’s organisers have announced a new layout and location for this year’s event, their third.
As well as the town hall and Market Place, this year’s foodie extravaganza will also have 60 stalls lining Bridge Street in the town centre.
A full road closure will be in place for the whole of Saturday, October 3.
And the festival committee is planning a packed day of entertainment, including live music, face-painting for children and the ever-popular demonstration kitchen feature, a showcase for local chefs to demonstrate their culinary skills throughout the day.
Entries are still open for the annual Morpeth jam competition, and this year, there will be a battle for the crown for the baker of the best scones in town.
Organisers are keen to hear from anyone who thinks they have what it takes to beat last year’s jam contest winner, Sarah Taylor.
Sanderson Arcade centre manager Medi Parry , also a member of the festival organising committee, said: “We really want to build on the success of the last two years and have looked at changing things around a little bit for 2015 and having the stalls running along Bridge Street.
“Interest in the event is really growing every year.
“It’s a great opportunity to show what the town and the region has to offer.”
