Club members are all of a flutter as they prepare to place their bets for charity.
Morpeth Lions Club is again bringing a flavour of Monte Carlo to Morpeth as it hosts a Charity Casino Night.
It follows a similar successful event last year, and will again take place at Morpeth Riverside Lodge in High Stanners.
The entertainment evening is this year being held in support of Daft As A Brush Cancer Patient Care, which provides free transport for people to get to hospital appointments.
It will see participants given ‘funny money’ to gamble with, and will include a prize draw, supper and cabaret, featuring local singers Along Came Lola.
There will also be a raffle, and a blind auction as the evening’s finale.
Morpeth Lions Club President Stuart Lewis said: “Following last year’s successful event, the club is again indebted to Riverside Lodge for agreeing to host it, and to Sunderland Lions Club, which is providing its expertise and equipment.
“Having received a talk from the charity we were greatly impressed with the work it does throughout Northumberland and Durham, much of which is by volunteers. I hope that our proceeds will make a useful contribution.
“We aim to provide a fun evening that will hopefully leave our guests asking for more. The main aim, however, is that the charity will greatly benefit.”
The Casino Night takes place on Saturday, February 28.
Tickets cost £15 and are available by contacting Simon Pringle on 01670 513169, or John Gray on 01670 518155.
