IT’S almost panto time in Ponteland – oh yes it is!

Members of Ponteland Repertory Society have been working hard on their seasonal show and later this month they will be presenting the fairytale Sleeping Beauty.

Hannah Elliot, who delighted audiences last winter in Peter Pan, is returning to the stage as the beautiful Princess Aurora. Her handsome prince will be played by society newcomer Adam Thompson.

The show has been specially written for The Rep by Simon Sladen, a panto expert and former student of the show’s director, Carole Davies.

He is the British Theatre Guide’s Panto Editor and provides expert guidance to theatres across the UK.

Ponteland Repertory Society chairman Ted Henderson said “Theatre-goers are able to buy tickets for the show online and by telephone this year for the first time.

“We appreciate that not everyone has been able to get into Ponteland to buy their tickets in the past, but this year tickets can be purchased 24-hours a day online through our website. We’ve also arranged a telephone ticket service.

“We hope these new facilities will make it easier for people to book their seats.”

The show runs from Tuesday, November 26 to Saturday, November 30 at Ponteland Memorial Hall, Darras Hall, with evening performances at 7pm and a Saturday matinee at 2pm. Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for children.

They can be purchased at and can also be booked by telephone on 0844 8700887 (5p min charge + £1.50 booking fee).
