A LOVE story from Paris in the 1930s will be brought back to life in a performance at Middleton Village Hall.

Solo performer Caroline Horton will present You’re Not Like The Other Girls Chrissy, based on the true story of her grandmother and pieced together from letters and conversations.

The play is a fond, comical and poignant portrait of one woman’s experience of love and war as she recounts her romance with a tongue-tied Staffordshire teacher, while waiting at a Paris railway station in January 1945 to be reunited with her love.

The show is being brought to Middleton in partnership with Highlights Community Touring Scheme next week.

Village Hall Committee Chairman Ernie Coe said: “It’s fantastic that we can bring to the local neighbourhood the opportunity to experience high quality drama in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

“The audience will be sitting at tables and we will be including a bowl of soup with the price of a ticket.”

The play can be seen at the venue on Friday, April 8, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6.50 for adults and £4 for children aged 12 to 18. They can be reserved on 01670 772600.
