A STIRRING and amusing version of one of Shakespeare’s most patriotic plays will be staged at Wallington on Sunday.
The open air production of Henry V, portraying a story of heroism, romance and the famous victory at Agincourt, will be played out by performance group Illyria in the beautiful setting of Wallington Courtyard.
People attending the event are invited to take a picnic along. However, they are advised to dress for the outdoors and take extra layers of clothing, as well as their own low-backed chairs or rugs.
The show will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £15 for adults, plus a 75p booking fee, and £7.50 for children, with a 38p booking fee. They are available from the Central Box Office on 0844 249 1895 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Earlier in the day, the National Trust attraction is asking children to take their fathers along to join Wallington’s ‘Dads’ Army’ and have some Father’s Day fun.
Woodland skills activities such as fire making, shelter building and tool making will run from 11am to 4pm. Normal admission charges apply.
On Saturday there will be an evening garden tour.
Visitors can join Wallington’s expert gardener for a guided walk around the beautiful Walled Garden between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 and must be booked in advance – they include light refreshments in the conservatory after the tour.
